Mi Familia’s Cuban Recipes

As a Cuban-born American who loves, loves Cuban food, I finally realized I needed to put a recipe blog together for the benefit of all.  My Papi’s wife, Iris, is an amazing cook and I am delighted to be sharing these wonderful recipes with you.

Feel free to add your favorite Cuban recipe.

BOCADITOS  – great snack!

1 lb. of boiled ham or turkey

1 T Mayo

1 T Black Pepper

12 oz. Whipped Cream Cheese

1 cup Stuffed Olives (pimento)

1 cup Sour Pickles

6 oz. Red Pimentos w/o the liquid

3 loaves light wheat bread

Combine all ingredients in a Cuisinart and spread on bread (w/o crust) cut in triangles

    In a tall glass add: 1 shot of Bacardi Rum
    Mash Mint Leaves & 2T Sugar
    Add Club Soda & Ice

    Recipe for Lemon Water

    You’ll need:

    ■1/2 inch knob of ginger sliced thinly or grated
    ■Stevia to taste or Honey

    Simply pour boiling water over the ginger, let steep for about 5mins then add lemon juice, stevia or honey to taste.

    So try a nice hot glass of Lemon water, it’s delicious and good for you in so many ways!!
